Newton County will be home to an abundance of July 4th celebrations this year. Oxford, Social Circle and many other communities around town will be playing host to festivals and fireworks in honor of our nations birthday.

Singing praise: Early Hope Baptist Church kicked off the inaugural gospel music series May 31 on the Covington square. The series is co-sponsored by Forrest and Sharron Sawyer’s WGFS radio program "Thy Brother’s and Sister’s Keepers" and Main Street Covington. T4 dodges sequel curse
Rarely are fourth installments in mega popular franchises nearly as good as those that came before it. Recent failures like "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" are just two examples of franchises losing their magic on the fourth go round. Thankfully, "Terminator Salvation" bucks the trend and, while not as great as its predecessors, is an enjoyable entry in the series.
