Did you mean everything? "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Th 5:18) Don't you just love opening presents? Shiny, colorful, crinkling paper tears away as wishes are filled. The words "thank you" are effortlessly repeated. If you want to hear a lot of grateful people, just watch celebrities as they climb the stairs to receive their Oscars. |

The Christian citizen Well, most elections are over. You may be happy with the outcome, or you may be disturbed with the results. I for one am not too worried. My hope has never been in who sits in the White House, or who sits in the Courthouse or who sits in our Congressional offices; my hope is in the one who sits on the throne of heaven, and that has not changed. |

Even the stones will cry out Clouds of smoky dust unrolled as trucks entered the lot. While I walked toward my destination, I noticed the adjacent cemetery. Quiet, except for the occasional bird, I became increasingly aware of the noise that my feet were generating. Crunching, wobbling and moving forward through the newly poured gravel, I stopped to look at one of the stones. |
